Happy happy B.!
Wohhooo am happy to be back here!
So let me sum up those last days... pas dans l'ordre though...
I am spending the evening by myself - as I like it sometime, with a glass of red, loads of reading, an easy movie to watch, a bread pudding just out of the oven... B. is mixing @ Bali Copy.
I was terribly sick last week - like I've not been in a very long time- something like food poisoning, or a stomach bug...
Oh we finally had this party under our dome... wot an experience! I went to bed @ 4.30 - the last time I did that, I was a student, or nursing!- though there was still some mixing & dancing going on until 6am! Well guys, that was our last one, we have to admit... getting old I guess... I don't fancy crowds @ my place - don't get me wrong, I fancy having friends, but not crowds who don't even know my name & eat all my food!-...
But B. was happy, he had friends, music, great musicians,... so happy happy!
And a lot more happening inside Beka... I'll need a full post to write about it... so for now: photos!

Fly is his name
Wow I just can't believe I still havent found time to tell you about this wonderful & beautiful lil being who entered our lives 3 weeks ago...
A lil storm indeed, but so gorgeous, with so much love & innocence...
Who teaches us patience, sacrifice, love, care, mothering & fathering...
Who brings us so much joy, fun, laughs, & pride...
Well enough reeling off... He's 2 months & 3 weeks old... His name is Fly cos I believe he can do so {but only when we're asleep...}
... & believe me, it's not a dog-lover talking to you... When this surprise hit me 3 weeks ago, I was not prepared for it! But I've learnt to love him & to let him love me! He's pretty clever hey?!
Check this look!!
And I'm not the only conquered...
Otherwise those last days have been hectic as you can imagine- working on Ayo's concert, raising up our puppy & the everyday routine just didnt leave me one minute to even think about anything else!
So it was a very special time finaly being able to relax on Sunday & share a poikikos with the family, under the shade of the mango trees or in the hammock!

A sunday picnic
Yesterday was a lazy Saturday. With a weather fluctuating from windy, rainy & sunny every 5 minutes, I just couldn't decide which mood I should be in. So I decided to spend the day mainly in the couch, reading, taking naps, & eating {which of course involved a bit of cooking!}
Today was another story. Sunny. Clear day. Fresh air. Mild temperature. Just the perfect day for a family picnic under a big tree in the garden. And so everybody contributed to the lunch. Sandwiches, a delicious quiche au bacon {I need your recipe mom!}, rouleaux de pizza au pesto, fresh green salad were all displayed on the table. For dessert was a tarte caramel au beurre sale & crumble chocolat {adapted from this blog}, plus a banana crumble freshly baked in the morning which were higly apreciated!
A well fed day, with chilled & relaxed moments with the family, with a funny Tikoulou running around & climbing on trees... quite delightful I must say.

quick post about week-end

Petit diner avec P & K samedi soir
I'll ask you to please bear with me. I have so much to share with you. So many photos of lil things that inspire, also called beauty, of people in our lives. So many recipes tested/created those last days. But I'll be quick this morning, just posting photos of our week-end {before it gets too late}. And I'll come back during the week to give you a few recipes.

Week-end report
To start with I've got a great news... Ticoulou's back!! Helas since Sunday morning {when we left for a day on a boat with a few friends} no news of him. So today was the 3rd day without our lil kitty & I thought there was now not much hope left to see her come back. And must I say that I was grumpy & moody all day? Well yeah. Our house felt lonely without her. Our couch felt empty. But... while cleaning the house this afternoon, I heard a meow from outside. At first it was a faraway & shy one. Then it came closer. So I hurriedly threw my pink rubber gloves on the floor and ran to catch my Ticoulou in my arms! Well it must sound pretty much fleur bleue, but it went just that way! I still can't believe she's back when I see her sleeping so tight next to me!
So let me now come back to the week-end & its activities. There's been some conjugal quarrel to start with, & all that comes after that {the part I love!}... meaning a day out for us two, a visit at the salon de la maison, a lil resto, a cinoch {Lol with Sophie Marceau which was really fun!}, some potager together, & a dinner with some friends & some newly met ones...
The next day carried on with the same friends on a boat at l'ile au Benitier. What more can be said? I'll let you imagine the day, the indian summer'sun, the clear lagoon, the fun company of these new friends, the sandwiches & baked-in-the-morning-brownies...
Well enough for tonight. I shall be back with some nice recipes during the week. Sleep tight you too!

Happy birthday mom!
As I was saying earlier, yesterday was my mom's birthday & we were glad to host her dinner'party at our place. Even grand-pere & grand-mere made it. G-m brought a vanilla & honey roasted duck, which we served with a gratin dauphinois au lait de coco & a watercress salad. B. contributed with a new recipe: a pestonade! A kind of mix between a pesto & a tapenade using olives, sun-dried tomatoes, pistachios, rocket, parmegiano, garlic, thyme, olive oil... I'll let your imagination go with that! He also created an enchanting decor with candles on the balcony guardrail, on the front steps, made beautiful bouquets & played classical & ambience music! We concluded the meal with another invention of mine, a coconut & white chocolate panacotta topped with syrupy pears & crunchy dark chocolate. The evening was quite a success & mom was happy I think.

Tartines & croutons de pestonade
A few days in Pointe d'Esny

Plage de Pointe d"Esny
Mieux vaut tard que jamais!
We're back since Sunday afternoon, with a nice tan, 2 more kilos after indulging ourselves with the most exquisite food {boeuf charolais, langoutes fraiches grillees, filet de capitaine frais, proscuitto gruyere & onion cake, banana & chocolate muffins, nice & fresh salads, just to name a few...}, & also a sore throat {for me}!
Altogether this was another lovely week-end that involved good moments with our friends P.& J., cooking together, savouring great champagne & wines, reading & resting on the beach...
So you'll understand that a few days were needed to rest, unpack, clean the house,& prepare my mom's birthday party yesterday...{coming next}
